Pivot Updates
Recently Maverick from the Cheese Media Forums asked what was going on with Pivot and asked why there had been no real updates on it. He was right, there hadn’t been a single blog post about the game…yet.
So, what’s changed in 2 months since the demo in February?
Another stage has been implanted in the game, but is only half finished. The Canyon has gone through a major overhaul and is completely different making the upper half almost unrecognizable (apart from the fact it has the same colour scheme as before).
Pete has joined the project and has contributed loads of graphics and as you know, is hard at work composing more and more tunes to pimp your speakers. The particle effects are much lighter then before and the menus have been completely revamped, with options, proper credits and the fade in/out effects don’t halt the particles. The people have been rebuilt from the ground up making it easier for me to work with in the future, they display a nice “Press to talk” message if you’re 32px away from them. The people walking system has been redesigned so you can no longer glitch it and make them fall off the cliff.
The engine has been configured slightly allowing more efficient jumping, and all the graphics are being smoothed in game providing a cleaner look.

Currently, we’re both really shooting for an August 2008 release. Hopefully there will be two releases of some kind before then in June and July.
