Statistics (April 2009)
We haven’t updated our blog for a while for a damn good reason. We forgot. But rather then focusing on something that you guys might find interested for our miniature come back, instead we’d like to take the opportunity to publish a few relatively boring statistics about the site.
First up is visits. There’s no denying it, Cheese Media has gone down hill since it was released a year ago. You don’t need any proof of this, but nevertheless a few statistics will confirm this. For the second month of our site being opened, Cheese Media managed to attract 11,000 views from March 1-March 31st (2008), however, this last month has shown that the site is not well, with only 4000 views in the entire month. Not impressive at all. Unfortunately, I don’t suppose this will get any better until we actually get around to releasing some content.
Our most popular blog article was ironically enough, not about Cheese Media at all and was our 5 Tips to Improve your Linux Desktop article. The article to date has attracted nearly 6000 views! Pretty incredible, seeing that single article had more views then the entire site this moth. The reason we got so many visitors from that article was because it appeared on the premier Linux news site Linux Today. Pretty swell, huh?
Search engine traffic has been anything but normal. As you’d imagine, the most common phrase used to get from Google to Cheese Media is simply “cheese media”, while other people have managed to find us using the phrases “bard-barracuda”, “mega sexy”, “gay jewish ballerina”, and even “petter west is sexy”…hmm
50% of our visitors are using Firefox, while 41% of people have stuck with Internet Explorer. 3.14% of our visitors are still on dial-up while 25% are using ADSL. The Windows operating system makes up around 77%, while Linux users produce nearly 20% of our visitors! Whoa, pity we don’t have any Linux content. Other operating systems include the Nintendo Wii, with a mere 0.04% of visitors, and an operating system called “Danger Hiptop” makes up 0.02%. Never heard of it myself.
In terms of games, a poor 3340 people have downloaded Splat Attack. Uck, I pity you all. While just under 1000 people managed to try out the Pivot demo before it was removed as it no longer represented the quality of the game.
In terms of Google ads, I’m not allowed to tell you how much we make per click but I will tell you we’ve made a few hundred dollars thus far, and that I highly recommend Google Adsense to anyone who owns their own website. Its a truly great service.
Well, that’s all from me for today! Any statistics you want to know about? Just shout us a question below and we’ll answer it.

I have no idea. It’s not that I care why someone used that search term. But the fact that Google links to our site from “gay jewish ballerina” is just weird.
